Math Basket and Park West Birdie Bag

A quick pic of my Noodlehead Divided Basket (apologies for the awful pictures, I'm just running out of time to get decent ones taken!)
It's the "math basket" for my math professor friend's new baby coming in April. I'm making a quilt to match as well. In short, this pattern is awesome!!! It's so cute and smart. Comes together super fast (maybe 3 hours total) So cute. Love it. Can't wait to try some more Noodlehead patterns. I have the Supertote downloaded as well and it just shot up the old to-do-next list.

Math basket inside, thought this divider might be tricky, but it's very simple
I also competed a Park West Bag from SewSweetness this week. I'll post a pic from my phone, but I'm hoping to get some better ones taken soon. I love the fabric, but I'm not totally sold on this design yet. I had trouble with the accent pieces lining up and the recessed zipper panel is kinda cumbersome to get in and out of. Plus it seems like the inside could use some more pockets or organizing too. Need to make some mods for the next one of these. I do however LOVE the side pockets on the outside of this bag. They are really easy, but super cute and the accents on them are the perfect touch. It will be a while before I tackle another Park West Bag though, too many other things to finish first!

I am a Fabriholic and I am honestly trying to curb my addiction this year. I have a new budget and a new state of mind and will only be buying the Fat quarter stash stack and the no prints allowed 1/2 yard bundles in monthly increments from Pink Castle Fabrics. I had already signed up for these clubs and feel that I have to get some more variety in my stash for the new quilting adventures I'm taking on. I will not be randomly buying fun fabrics just because I'm bored and they are adorable. I'm in it for reals!!!! My hubby is quite excited too and helping to keep me honest. I really, really wanted some Mulberry Glow the other night, but he wouldn't let me and I thanked him later. So, I will be using my stash this year, quite aggressively and only purchasing something to finish a current project. Whew!

Arabesque Bag and Scrappy Heart pouch

Sew Sweetness Arabesque Bag

QAYG Style:
I was instantly distracted by this bag pattern, and decided I must have one, like NOW.
Sara used ribbons on her bag (which I have to honestly say, I don't care for), Just never been into ribbons, they don't trick my trigger at all. However, I loved the shape of this bag and the construction looked pretty simple. So, I had to make one, QAYG style. I tweaked the handles a little so I didn't have to use handle panels over my quilting. I also used a snap closure rather than the zipper again just because I had some extra bulk with the quilting. And a zipper pocket inside, because I love those things! It turned out so cute!! I used a bunch of purples from my Pink Castle January Stash Stack and I love it! You can see from the inside picture that this  bag is already in use. The bag is very easy to put together and definitely beginner friendly.

And a super cute scrappy valentine pouch for the kindergarten "secret pal" Created from my own brain! Pretty proud, made it while the little guy napped. I'm making a few more, then I will attempt to post my first tutorial. Yippeee! I love a good tutorial, so much fun info out in the world. Here's the gift for Erica

It turned out to be just the right size for a bag of Hershey kisses as had been requested. Plus a cute reusable pouch, that is actually a nice limey green, not this weird green that my phone took in these pictures.

So not a terribly productive week, but got a few fun projects done and started a Park West Bag with super cute love birds from Michael Miller. Bonus, I bought no fabric this week! Go me!!
